Design Drawings!

After reading a fascinating NYT article, forwarded by my mother Brook Lowry and directing us to a Minnesota based geodesic dome home builder, Natural Spaces Domes (NSD), we fell in love with the dome concept. We were able to visit multiple domes on site and meet with the founder Dennis and ask all kinds of questions. The domes were magical and we immediately felt this type of home would be a great fit for us!

We thought carefully about the elements of the home that were important to us, and I scoured the NSD online plans for an inspiration. Finally, I drew up a layout with our vision, emailed it over to them, and then started what felt like a long wait… Several weeks later we had a first CAD design - we were excited to see how our initial plans had translated!

After a few back and forth emails, we were ready for the next step… more drawings! Construction and engineer approved drawings are needed to submit our project to the local authorities for a building permit. (Im)patiently waiting for this next set of drawings!

Meanwhile David is still wrapping up the shed and has started thinking and ordering supplies for another structure on the property!
